La Palma (Canary Islands (Spain)): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Toulouse has warned of a plume of volcanic ash rising to an estimated altitude of 15,000 feet (4600 m) or flight level 150 and moving at 10 kts in a SE direction.
The full report is as follows: ERUPTION AT 20210919 / 1410Z IN EMISION OF ASH OBS VA DTG: 08 / 2100Z at 15000 ft (4600 m)
… October 8:
In the last few hours, the eruption has strengthened, with increasing pressure in the main cone, reported our correspondent Victor of the Canary Islands volcanological society Volcanes de Canarias.
Strong vibrations on the ground from sustained and almost constant explosions can be felt in nearby areas, as shown in the video taken at 9:17 a.m. local time in Tacande, 3 km away, taken a short time ago:

… October 8:
La Palma ash plume threatens the operation of Tenerife North airport; some flights have been diverted to Tenerife South as a result and the operation of the North airport remains questionable or even improbable in the coming hours.

… October 8:
Activity continues without significant change as the eruption approaches 3 weeks, during which it has now covered more than 430 hectares of land and destroyed more than 1,000 homes and other buildings.
At the vents, ash-rich fountains and vigorous lava splashes continue to produce lava flows on the northwest flank of the cone, but more importantly, a large plume of ash and steam that forms a column s ‘rising for 2-3 km and spreading with winds in various directions, currently including easterly currents, which unfortunately brings the ash plume towards the airport area. This has forced the airport to close since yesterday, forcing the hijacking of flights to Tenerife. It should last at least until tomorrow.

A great photo of lava tubes was taken by the INVOLCAN volcanic observatory.
Lava tubes are volcanic phenomena that extend the distance that a flow field can reach.
