The Northern Lehigh School District is grateful for the partnerships it has forged in its community.

On that note, Superintendent Matthew J. Link paid tribute to several businesses and organizations during Monday’s school board meeting.

“I would like to share that this summer very generous companies and organizations made donations to support various causes and events,” Link said.

• Giant Food Stores donated $3,155 through their Round up at the Register program, which Link says is dedicated to the district’s food service department to help ensure every student has access consistent with nutritious meals.

• Neffs National Bank donated $22,500 to our Education Foundation, with the funds dedicated to supporting STEAM Summer Camp, and again this year they purchased the EVERFI program for literacy and Financial Literacy, which is the curriculum the district uses in college as part of the Essential Skills course.

• The McClure Company donated $1,200 for meals over three days for the District Administrative Retreat held in July and August this summer and for meals on August 25 for district employees at their welcome ceremonies.

• The Lehigh Valley Educators Credit Union donated $2,000 towards the cost of lunch for the district administration and staff retreat on August 25 as part of its welcome ceremonies.

• The Northern Lehigh Education Foundation will also be sponsoring a light breakfast for district employees on August 25th.

“So we’re very grateful to all of our businesses and community partners who truly seek to care for our students and employees here in the school district,” he said. “We are lucky to have their partnerships.”
