Library launches senior-friendly newsletter to mark Seniors Month

June is Seniors Month in Ontario, a time to recognize seniors in our community and the important contributions they have made and continue to make.

In keeping with the 2022 Seniors Month theme – Stay Active, Connected and Safe – the Collingwood Public Library Senior Friendly Advisory Committee has launched a quarterly senior-friendly newsletter.

“We learned from our survey of the Age-Friendly Community that older residents of the community seek out different forms of communication to stay informed about what’s going on in Collingwood,” said Lori Crossan, Adult and Senior Programs Coordinator. .

With the help of the Age Friendly Committee volunteers, the newsletter will feature local social, cultural, learning and recreational programs and events that take place each season. The newsletter will be published in various formats, including a digital version available on the Collingwood Public Library website at and a printed version that will be distributed at city facilities and shared with community organizations.

The Collingwood Public Library Age-Friendly Committee is a group of volunteers who meet quarterly to provide information and advice on library services and programs and to continue to build a Age-Friendly Collingwood. elders.
