Join students from the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (Sweden) for a week-long bootcamp at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business (UCT GSB) Solutions Space at Philippi Village from July 15-22 to learn more about challenge-driven innovation and entrepreneurship in resource-limited settings with Professor Mikael Samuelsson.
The bootcamp examines locally defined societal challenges and social entrepreneurship to address them through entrepreneurial activities and high-impact innovations, while creating much-needed economic activity in challenging environments.
Based on a challenge-based pedagogy, participants will learn how to address open societal challenges in a resource-constrained environment, and how to use and implement systematic methodologies to identify issues underlying societal challenges and find viable and desirable solutions. In addition, they will learn to understand how the complexity and dynamics of systems at different scales of a system impact how societal challenges are viewed and addressed in the context of South Africa – what works ( and what doesn’t) in innovative and inspiring start-ups. cutting-edge organizations that are reshaping their market. Finally, participants will learn how to approach and understand how to deliver new products and services in challenging contexts.
