Chelsea are desperate to bring a striker into this transfer window and Thomas Tuchel is keen on signing Erling Haaland. However, Borussia Dortmund are reluctant to lose the Norway international.

Chelsea have been silent this transfer window despite winning the Champions League, but there is one main target in sight – Haaland.

Les Bleus aren’t the only ones, with most of Europe’s biggest clubs chasing the Borussia Dortmund star.

After an incredible 41 goals in 41 appearances, Thomas Tuchel is desperate to get the striker to Stamford Bridge but has been put off by the price tag of over £ 150million.

Nonetheless, Chelsea could see talks of a move for Haaland intensify after their latest transfer activity.

Olivier Giroud is set to join AC Milan after an agreement between all parties, which will see the Frenchman move to San Siro for £ 1.7million.

The striker signed a year-long extension earlier this summer, but it was done simply to protect his value and see some sort of charge come to West London – albeit minimal.

However, the deal means Chelsea only have two forwards in the form of Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham.

Neither have particularly impressed Tuchel, while Haaland increasingly looks like the only target at Stamford Bridge this summer – meaning they’re ready to put all their eggs in that basket.

The 20-year-old has a choice of clubs around the world, but his ultimate ambition is to win the Champions League.

After clinching the trophy last season, the Blues are perfectly placed to convince the Leeds-born ace that his future is in London.

Regardless of what happens, Chelsea are expected to offload a number of players, one of the most important tasks for Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech.

The wage bill has been inflated by peripheral players such as Davide Zappacosta, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Emerson Palmieri.

All could be removed this summer with Haaland in mind, whose £ 150million transfer fee is said to be just one of many costly hurdles.

The Norway international expects wages in the region of £ 300,000 per week while his agent Mino Raiola is also said to demand a big commission.
