Catalyst responds to CARF survey
MANSFIELD – Catalyst Life Services has completed a three-day investigation facilitated by the Rehabilitation Facilities Accreditation Commission (CARF). CARF is an international benchmark accreditation, in which program standards are reviewed by professionals who determine whether the agency meets more than 3,000 key standards.
These standards cover many areas including finance, human resources, informatics, health / safety, leadership, governance, professional services, mental health / addiction services and programs, audiology and several other areas.
Catalyst did not receive any results during the exam and was found to be 100% compliant. The lead investigator shared the rarity of an organization with no results, saying “it’s almost unheard of.” CARF investigators called Catalyst “a flagship organization in our region.”
For those served, CARF accreditation means that the CARF accredited service provider is committed to reducing risk, responding to health and safety concerns, respecting individual preferences (cultural or otherwise), and providing best quality of care possible. It also shows that the accredited organization values ââfeedback and feedback from its customers and is accountable to the community.

BWC rate reduction now in effect
COLUMBUS – Private employers in Ohio to pay nearly $ 72 million less in premiums to Ohio Workers’ Compensation Office (BWC) next fiscal year under 7.1% rate cut approved by the agency’s board of directors in February.
This rate cut took effect on July 1, the start of the state’s 2022 fiscal year. It will save private employers $ 71.5 million on this year’s bonuses, affecting approximately 220,000 employers. across the state.
The council’s action marks the fourth straight rate reduction for private employers since 2018 and the twelfth since 2008. It also follows a 10% reduction for Ohio public employers (cities, counties, schools, etc. .) which came into force on January 1.
The 7.1% rate cut represents an average change in premiums statewide. The actual premium paid by individual private employers depends on several factors, including expected future claims costs in their industry, their company’s recent claims history, and their participation in various BWC programs.
