After a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Entrepreneurship Center at Ball State University has announced the return of Startup Weekend Muncie, powered by Techstars.

Startup Weekend is a global organization powered by Techstars and Google where attendees come together on a Friday evening to present and listen to ideas, form teams and build a business over the course of a weekend. Absolutely no special skills or experience is required.

The in-person event will be held October 8-10 at major sponsor Accutech Systems, 115 W. Walnut St., Muncie. Accutech, a Muncie-based company, provides innovative trust and wealth management solutions with exceptional, personalized service to over 250 banks and wealth management companies.

The cost to attend Startup Weekend Muncie is $ 50 for professionals and $ 25 for students. Each ticket includes seven delicious local meals; Muncie weekend starter gear; the opportunity to meet professional mentors; and the chance to take a business from idea to start-up.

This is an event for all ages and everyone is welcome. Tickets are available now, but are limited, and can be purchased at https://event.techstars.com/event/1d7H7nQEdJ.

“Startup Weekend is a safe and risk-free environment for anyone to participate and learn about the process of building a business, organization, physical product, etc.,” said Krystal Geyer, main organizer of Startup Weekend Muncie and deputy director of Ball. State Entrepreneurship Center. “These events are filled with excitement, enthusiasm and just the right amount of stress as teams race to get their idea forward before the weekend is over.”
