Airport employee accused of child pornography

After reviewing evidence that a 24-year-old Beaumont Municipal Airport employee posted and uploaded more than 100 videos and photos of child sexual abuse, a Jefferson County grand jury indicted a man with Port Neches of 10 counts of child pornography.

At press time, Adam Michael Meaux, 24, of Port Neches, had already been arrested and released on charge – his name does not appear on the Jefferson County inmate list. Investigators reportedly found the man in possession of extensive media showing girls – some as young as one year old – being sexually assaulted.

A probable cause affidavit written by Sgt. Chris Rybarski of the Texas Attorney General’s Office states, “On April 23, 2021, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s (NCMEC) CyberTipline received an electronic report from Google, LLC that a user had downloaded 68 files from child pornography on their Platform.”

Rybarski began his investigation in October 2021 after Google sent him Meaux’s information, including his Gmail address and cellphone number. The investigator first consulted 38 files allegedly attributed to Meaux, showing girls as young as six years old who were victims of sexual assault.

An investigator’s open records request revealed that Meaux used a computer at Beaumont Municipal Airport to log into the account hosting his child pornography files.

After writing a search warrant for Google’s history of Meaux in November 2021, Rybarski received a return from the company in March 2022. He found “numerous” images and videos depicting child pornography, writing: “Your afflicted also identified several images of Meaux at Beaumont Aéroport Municipal, which is Meaux’s duty station.

Jefferson County Criminal District Court Judge John Stevens signed a search warrant to allow officers to enter the Port Neches home where Meaux allegedly lived with his father, airport manager Chris Meaux Municipality of Beaumont. Rybarski and members of the Texas Attorney General’s Office Child Exploitation Unit executed the residential search warrant and found Meaux exiting his garage. Airport tenants report that Meaux tendered his resignation shortly after the execution of the criminal search warrant.

A subsequent look at Meaux’s phone showed investigators more than 100 “images and videos” of child pornography, the affidavit reads, showing children as young as one year old being sexually assaulted.
